What is a bill of lading?
A bill lading is a contract for the movement of the cargo. Its purpose is to show receipt of cargo along with providing proof of cargo ownership. There are different types of BLs used across shipping. For ocean shipments, original or express are commonly used bills of lading. While for air shipments, air waybills are most used.
